As part of our WeAreCD18 campaign, we’re sitting down with each of the candidates running in CD18 to hear directly from them—no debate stage, just real conversation. Join us for a complimentary community dinner and open forum where residents and voters can connect one-on-one with candidates in a relaxed setting.
This dinner features Christian Menefee, who currently serves as Harris County Attorney and is running to represent Texas’s 18th Congressional District. As the youngest person and first African American elected to the role, Christian has made headlines standing up for voting rights, reproductive justice, and vulnerable communities across Texas.
Food will be provided. Space is limited, so RSVP is encouraged.

OUR JAIL STORIES (Community Storytelling Workshop)
Join us for Our Jail Stories, a powerful community storytelling event dedicated to sharing real experiences with incarceration, reentry, and the systems that shape our lives.
This is an open, supportive space where neighbors, friends, family members, and those directly impacted can come together to listen, learn, and share their own stories. Whether you’ve been inside, supported someone who has, or simply want to understand more, your voice and presence matter here.
At Our Jail Stories, we believe storytelling is a tool for healing, truth-telling, and change. Through these conversations, we aim to:
-Center the experiences of people impacted by incarceration
-Build understanding and solidarity within our community
-Challenge stigma and silence around jail and reentry
-Explore ways to support one another and envision change
This is a judgment-free, respectful environment where every participant’s story is valued. You can share as much or as little as you want—or simply come to listen.

-Family members and loved ones
-Community members, advocates, service providers
-Anyone who cares about justice, healing, and connection

Join the WeAreCD18 Campaign for Dinner with Amanda Edwards on 7/21
The WeAreCD18 campaign is creating opportunities for voters to meet the candidates—one dinner at a time. We’re hosting a series of intimate community dinners with each of the CD18 candidates so neighbors can ask questions, share concerns, and hear directly from the people running to represent them in Congress.
This dinner features Amanda Edwards, a native Houstonian, former At-Large Houston City Council Member, and attorney focused on building bridges between government and community. Amanda is running for Congress to bring bold, compassionate leadership to Washington.
Dinner will be provided, and we’ll gather in a casual setting to foster meaningful conversation. Seating is limited, so RSVP is encouraged.
